Biography

Dr. Nir Ayalon is an Interventional Cardiologist with special interests in Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Invasive Hemodynamics, as well as in new medical technologies and healthcare innovation. Dr. Ayalon is the Co-Director of the Invasive Physiology and Hemodynamics Lab (IPH-Lab), offering a customizable invasive test to diagnose unexplained dyspnea, allowing an early diagnosis of Exercise-induced Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension. Dr. Ayalon is the Director of the Heart Failure Remote Monitoring program, utilizing Pulmonary pressure sensors (Abbott’s CardioMEMS) to prevent Heart Failure hospitalizations. Dr. Ayalon had completed his medical school in Israel, had served as a physician in unique and classified units in the Israeli Defense Forces, and had completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Tel-Aviv Medical Center. Dr. Ayalon was trained at Boston University/Boston Medical Center and completed a general cardiology fellowship, a heart failure and cardiomyopathy clinical and research fellowship and an Interventional cardiology fellowship. Dr. Ayalon is now a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and practices as an attending physician in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Intensive Care, and Heart Failure services and the IPH-Lab at Boston University and Boston Medical Center.
