Biography

Nicholas Cordella, MD, MSc, is a physician executive focused on quality, patient safety, and healthcare delivery improvement. As Associate Chief Quality Officer for the Boston Medical Center Health System (BMCHS), he leads large-scale quality improvement initiatives across the institution and helps set the system's quality vision and strategy.

Dr. Cordella is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics. Trained in health services research, he uses quasi-experimental methods to evaluate quality outcomes and to build toward a learning health system. His work applies advanced analytics and emerging digital tools to make care safer and more effective for patients.

Dr. Cordella serves on the Physician Council of Massachusetts Health Quality Partners (MHQP) and on the Clinical Issues Advisory Council (CIAC) of the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association.
