The Boston University Summer Training as Research Scholars Program (STaRS) is a 10-week, on-site summer research program that provides undergraduate students and first-year Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine students the opportunity to participate in hands-on research while developing the skills needed to pursue graduate or MD/PhD training.

Twelve students worked in medical campus labs and collaborated closely with mentors gaining research experience. A mini-symposium was held on July 30, where 11 students presented their original research projects. BU StaRS is supported by an NIH grant and is directed by Beth Bragdon, PhD, assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery.
