Biography

Rafael Mauricio Gonzalez, MD, FASA, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine and Vice Chairman of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Anesthesiology at Boston Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia. After completing his residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia at BMC, Dr. Gonzalez continued to work in the Massachusetts as an Attending Anesthesiologist at VA Boston Healthcare System where he was promoted to Assistant Chief of Aensthesia. He returned to Boston University Medical Center in 2004. He regularly lectures residents and students on topics such as monitoring in neurosurgery, malignant hyperthermia, ultrasound and EART simulation.
