The Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Assistant Professor of Medicine/GIM Simeon D. Kimmel, MD, MA, has been named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for May.

Dr. Kimmel is an attending physician in general internal medicine and infectious diseases at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and medical director of Project TRUST, the hospital’s harm reduction-focused drop-in center. He came to our community first as a fellow in 2016 before joining the faculty in 2020.

His nominators say, “Dr. Kimmel is an exceptional addiction medicine and infectious disease researcher.

“He consistently prioritizes mentorship through his work.

“Dr. Kimmel has been monumental to development of our clinical research skills and stands as a role model within the research community.”
