Ariel E. Hirsch, MD, Named Fellow of the
American Society for Radiation Oncology
for Contributions to Cancer Care

FASTRO designation recognizes sustained achievement and service to radiation medicine and patient care.

Ariel E. Hirsch, MD, professor of radiation oncology and director of radiation oncology education and mentorship, has been selected as a Fellow of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (FASTRO), the world’s largest professional organization in radiation oncology.

“ASTRO Fellows represent the leadership, expertise and commitment that strengthen radiation oncology,” said ASTRO CEO Vivek S. Kavadi, MD, MBA, FASTRO. “This designation reflects Dr. Hirsch’s longstanding contributions to the specialty and commitment to patient care, and we are proud to honor her as part of this year’s class of Fellows.”

Hirsch is a longstanding medical student mentor and recently was awarded the 2025 Conquer Cancer Medical Student Rotation (MSR) Mentor Award and the 2026 ASTRO and Speed of Light – the ASTRO Foundation: Medical Student Fellowship Mentor Award.
