Her nominators say, “Celia is quiet, but mighty, and for 41 years has provided unwavering support and expertise to the members of the department and many other students, staff and faculty on the Medical Campus. She has done so with the utmost professionalism, dedication, and a cheerful and unassuming disposition.”
The nominators said, “Dr. Shah is an active advisor in the neurology student interest group and always is a student favorite. She mentors fourth-year medical students applying for neurology residencies by reviewing their personal statements and conducting mock interviews.”
Thirty-five students have been elected membership in Alpha Omega Alpha.
Budson has been awarded a two-year, $150,000 grant with collaborator Daniel Levy, PhD, at Reichman University, Herzliya, Israel, from the U.S. Israel Binational Science Foundation.
For the next 18 months, the incoming PA class and first-year medical students will attend team-based classes together that integrate foundational sciences and clinical medicine.

Members of the 176th entering class were born in 18 different countries and hail from 30 states. Eighty-six percent speak a second language.
