7 Graduate Students Receive BUWG Scholarships
What do BU researchers, genetic counselors, philosophers, psychologists, master flutists, visual artists, mothers, and mothers-to-be have in common? They are among the 55 recipients of the 2024 BU Women’s Guild (BUWG) scholarships. This year, the BUWG awarded over $250,000 to support BU graduate students.
The BUWG scholarships support women, and those who identify as female, in BU graduate programs, as well as BU women writers, with awards ranging from $1,000-5,000. Since 1977, the organization has distributed over $800,000 in scholarships to more than 400 BU graduate students.
Congratulations to the seven recipients from the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine:
Shivangi Anil, Khushi Jain and Shirley Wang from the mental health counseling & behavioral medicine program; Caitlyn Ark and Katherine Bryant from the genetic counseling program; Jennifer Wang, medicine; and Alicia Wang, clinical research.
The scholarships were awarded during a May 23 ceremony at BU’s Metcalf Trustee’s Ballroom, and featured keynote speaker Dr. Barbara Jones, dean of the BU School of Social Work.
