Alexis Ramirez, MD, Named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for March

The Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology Alexis Ramirez, MD, has been named March’s Distinguished Faculty of the Month. 

head and shoulders of Dr. Ramirz in scrubs and whitecoatRamirez received his BS in human physiology from Boston University and his MD at UMass-Chan Medical School in Worcester. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Rush Medical Center in Chicago and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

He joined our community in July 2018 as a pediatric anesthesiologist. Currently, he serves as the director for the Medical Student Anesthesiology Elective and Clinical Clerkships, as well as the lead faculty student advisor for students interested in anesthesiology.

His nominators said, “Dr. Ramirez is an excellent teacher who emphasizes compassion, care and patient safety. He is an excellent clerkship director for anesthesiology.

Dr. Ramirez is “a role model for professionalism.”
