BU-BMC Cancer Center Announces Co-Directors

Julie Palmer, ScD, Matthew Kulke, MD, and Gerald Denis, PhD, have been appointed Co-Directors of the BU-BMC Cancer Center, effective Feb. 1, 2019.

Dr. Palmer also is Associate Director of Boston University’s Slone Epidemiology Center, Professor of Epidemiology at BU School of Public Health and Associate Director for Population Sciences at the BU-BMC Cancer Center.
Dr. Kulke also is Zoltan Kohn Professor of Medicine at BUSM, Chief of the Section of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine at BUSM-BMC and Medical Director of the Clinical Cancer Center at BMC. He previously served as Deputy Director of the BU-BMC Cancer Center.
Dr. Denis also is Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine (Hematology and Oncology).

Together, these leaders will bring together their respective expertise in population sciences, clinical and basic research to foster interdisciplinary research and build robust bridges for collaboration among engineers, chemists, biologists and computer scientists, to deepen the University’s community of investigators who focus on cancer. Dr. Denis also will direct the Center’s administrative activities.
