Fellows are given weekly protected academic time to participate in scholarly activity.

Our department has amazing and unique research opportunities to fulfill the scholarly research requirement and grow your research portfolio. BU Neuroradiology has numerous ongoing projects along the entire spectrum of the research process from basic science to clinical research. We submit, publish and present at all national radiology meetings and take great pride in supporting and mentoring our trainees in their research interests We staff our own radiology research coordinators and have four PhD’s in the department for guidance collaboration. Dr. Stephan Anderson, our Vice-Chair for Research, provides additional support and guidance for projects at the institutional level.

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is internationally renowned for its expert physicians and groundbreaking medical research. BMC is 15th in NIH Funding of 75 Independent Hospitals Nationwide.

CTE Center: Our Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) Center is world renowned.

CTNI: A $4.9 million grant from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) has been awarded to the Center for Translation Neurotrauma Imaging (CTNI) at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. With support from the grant, the CTNI will improve brain imaging techniques and open doors to developing diagnostics and treatments for neurodegenerative diseases.
In addition to the MLSC grant, the CTNI has received additional in-kind donations valued at $6.3 million.
