Educational Experience

Education is a core value of the neuroradiology fellowship at BU.

We take great pride in an innovative blended-curriculum for the neuroradiology fellowship which follows the curriculum guidelines of the ASNR. The curriculum consists lectures given to the fellows by neuroradiology, neurosurgery, neurology and ENT faculty. Additionally, the fellows attend the neuroradiology lectures in the core resident curriculum for the residents. We also guide the fellows through various online lectures and papers to supplement the didactic curriculum.

Fellows attend weekly Neuroscience Grand Round lectures, in addition to departmental neuroradiology visiting professor and Grand Rounds lectures.

Fellows attend New England Roentgen Ray Society (NERRS) neuroradiology programs.

The department also pays tuition for all fellows to attend the Eastern Neuroradiological Society Annual Meeting (ENRS).

Teaching opportunities are plentiful during the fellowship year. Fellows are encouraged to teach trainees (residents and medical students) in the reading room. Fellows give lectures to the radiology residents as well as trainees on other services (Neurosurgery, ENT, Neurology, Internal Medicine etc). There are also opportunities to teach in the medical school neuroscience anatomy labs.
