VA Boston Psychology Holds Event on Program Evaluation
On May 1, VA Boston Psychology Service hosted a half-day continuing educational event entitled, “Making and Measuring Change: Introduction to Program Evaluation and Implementation Science.” We were fortunate to have a stellar group of presentations. BUSM Department of Psychiatry speakers included Dr Jillian Shipherd, who spoke on differentiating research from program evaluation and panelists, Drs Lisa Fisher and Barbara Niles, who presented their collaborative work on minimizing attrition in evidenced-based PTSD treatments. Other speakers included Drs Martin Charns and Deborah Gurewich, who provided an introduction to program evaluation, Dr Megan McCullough, who spoke about qualitative methods, Dr Mark Bauer, who overviewed implementation science, panel moderator, Dr Lindsey Jacobs, and panelists, Drs Jenny Moye and David Topor. The workshop was developed in response to clinician interest in empirical evaluation of clinical initiatives and implementation.
