David Trimble, PhD Edited Book: Engaging with Spirituality in Family Therapy

Springer has just published Engaging with Spirituality in Family Therapy – Meeting in Sacred Space, edited by David Trimble, PhD, CMTP faculty member, who teaches the Multicultural Family Therapy Seminar.  The chapters were assembled with the intent of acknowledging the universality of human spirituality and the particularity of its cultural expressions.  The authors are a multiracial, multicultural group writing from the perspectives of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Sikhism, Taoism, and African and Native American traditional practices.  The authors write of their own spiritual journeys and provide case examples of engaging with spirituality in clinical practice.  The last chapter is a multi-voiced conversation assembled from three years of correspondence among the authors in the course of writing the book.
