Print Resources
Print Books
To find print books, enter a title or topic in BU Libraries Search, then under “Filter My Results” in the right-hand column click “Available in Library”. The location will be listed under the book information, usually either “Stacks” or “Off-site storage” for items in the Medical Library.
Items in the “Stacks” are shelved on the 12th floor and are freely available for viewing or checkout (don’t hesitate to ask at the desk if you need help finding a book). Items in “Off-site storage,” or in other BU libraries, can be requested using the Interlibrary Loan request form, and they will be brought to the Medical Library for you to pick up.
Print Journals
Medical Library print journals are stored in an offsite facility and are not available for browsing. To find a print journal, search the Journals and Newspapers subset of BU Libraries Search, then under “Filter My Results” in the right-hand column, click “Available in Library” and “Apply Filters”.
To access individual articles from print journals, submit a request using the Interlibrary Loan request form, and staff will scan the article and email it to you. Print journals cannot be checked out, but in the event that you need to review an entire issue or volume of a print journal, it may be brought to the Library for you to consult.
Contact a librarian at refquest@bu.edu if you need help finding a book or journal.
