Rossana PO Lau-Ng MD, MBA, CMD

Biography

Dr. Lau-Ng is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine combined MD/MBA program in Health Management. She completed her Family Medicine and Community Health residency at University of Massachusetts Medical School, and then went on to complete a 2-year Geriatric Medicine clinician-educator track fellowship at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine/Boston Medical Center.

As an attending physician in the Section of Geriatrics at Boston Medical Center, she sees patients in local area skilled nursing facilities, providing care for subacute rehabilitation patients and long-term care residents. She is the medical director of the Nursing Home Program in the Section of Geriatrics, and the medical director of the Decanter Program at Boston Medical Center working with an interprofessional committee on care transitions of un-/underinsured patients from the hospital to appropriate post-acute care facilities.

She serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Previously the Associate Clerkship Director for the Fourth Year Geriatrics Clerkship from 2015 – 2018, she now continues to be a medical student preceptor in the nursing home. She is also a core faculty of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at BUSM and a nursing home longitudinal preceptor for the fellowship. She has a special interest in interprofessional medical education on issues affecting older adults in post-acute care setting. She is a recipient of the prestigious HRSA’s Geriatric Academic Career Advancement award, which supports her research focus on interprofessional education in the post-acute and long-term care setting on the care of older adults with opioid use disorder.
