Biography
Nirupa Gadi, MD, earned her medical degree from Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center, with a concentration in point-of-care ultrasound. Her scholarship focuses on immunology and infectious disease. She has coauthored papers on how sex and age shape the immune response to coronaviruses, on COVID-19 and systemic lupus erythematosus, and on a case of immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome in a migrant patient with cutaneous leishmaniasis and HIV. Gadi has received the Rheumatology Research Foundation Medical and Graduate Student Preceptorship Award and Grant and a Global Health Summer Grant, and she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. A dedicated educator, she served as a teaching fellow for Healer's Art: Human Dimensions of Medicine and for Medical Spanish, and she has presented at Boston Medical Center morning reports and noon conferences on topics ranging from brucellosis to preoperative cardiac risk stratification.
