Nicole Campion MD, MPH

Biography

I am a primary care physician in General Internal Medicine at Boston Medical Center and clinical educator in the inpatient and outpatient settings. I am interested in the implementation and dissemination of programs to address inequities in access to healthcare and health outcomes in under-resourced settings, both domestically and globally. Simply put, how do we deliver the right care to the right person, in the right place, at the right time?

Currently, I am the interim Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety in GIM, where I am the clinical lead for the population-health activities of our large primary care practice, aiming to improve the health outcomes of our patient population across key cancer screening and chronic disease metrics. Previously, I conducted refugee health assessments through BMC's Immigrant and Refugee Health Center, and worked as a hospitalist at BMC.

My prior global-health experiences include: improving sanitation practices in rural Benin, occupational health and safety training for healthcare workers in the Gambia, clinical rotations in Senegal, and adapting best practices from a family-centered health support program in Brazil for implementation in Baltimore, Maryland though the principles of implementation science and reciprocal innovation. I am interested in building new global-health partnerships, particularly in West Africa, focused on clinical education and quality improvement.
