Biography

Dr. Kavita Sharma, is a Weight Management and Nutrition Specialist at Boston Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine in Endocrinology, Diabetes, Nutrition, and Weight Management at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. She graduated from Medical school in India and completed a residency in Internal Medicine from Cambridge Health Alliance, Boston, MA. While practicing as an Internist she found her passion for obesity and specialized nutrition therapy. This led to completion of a fellowship program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Boston. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine and Nutrition Support. Apart from bariatric medicine her research interest also includes malnutrition and therapies for patient with Short Bowel Syndrome. She enjoys working in an academic multidisciplinary setting and currently serves as the Director of Nutrition Support Service at Boston Medical Center.
