Biography
Patricia Mitchell, RN, is Director of Emergency Medicine Research Operations for the Department of Emergency Medicine as well as Research Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. She has a broad range of leadership experience in many areas of emergency medicine research. She has directed clinical research activities for more than two decades, including serving as Co-Investigator on numerous multi-center NIH studies.
Ms. Mitchell is responsible for managing the daily activities of the research section and is actively involved with projects from study development to manuscript preparation. Past endeavors include overseeing multi-center project management for NIH funded trials, industry sponsored grants, and multiple projects within the Boston EMS system. Areas of research include cardiovascular disease, asthma, stroke, violence prevention, substance abuse, and public health. All clinical protocols are submitted to Ms. Mitchell for review and approval before implementation as she coordinates their conduct and integration in the clinical area.
