The BU Section of the American Medical Association/Massachusetts Medical Society aims to involve students in advocacy, community service, mentorship, and policy making, both at a State and National level. This can be broadly referred to as “organized medicine”. Through the AMA and MMS, students will have the opportunity to experience community service projects, policy-making conferences, networking and career exploration events, and more – with each year presenting new and exciting opportunities. Notably, students in Massachusetts particularly have the chance to sit alongside physicians in these policy discussions as independent, voting members as early as their second year in school. We look forward to creating meaningful change in healthcare with you!
