Ricardo M. Munarriz, MD

Biography

Dr. Munarriz is an Associate Professor of Urology at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Munarriz earned his medical degree from the Luis Razetti School of Medicine, Universidad Central de Venezuela, Caracas, Venezuela in 1991. Dr. Munarriz received his general surgery and urologic training at Boston University Medical Center. In July 2000, Dr. Munarriz was awarded the very prestigious American Foundation for Urologic Disease M.D. Research Scholar Fellowship and the first ever Bayer Urology Fellowship in Sexual Medicine. Dr. Munarriz has co-authored more than 60 peer reviewed papers and chapters in both male and female sexual dysfunction in addition to his clinical practice and on-going basic science research.

Dr. Munarriz is a member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), the International Research Impotence Society (ISSM), American Urologic Association (AUA), American Medical Association (AMA), and a member of the editorial Board of the Journal of Sexual Medicine and Current Health reports in Urology. His research interests include male and female function and dysfunction, in particular, the role of steroid hormones in sexual function.
