Biography

Michael Cohen, MD is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine and an attending surgeon at the VA Medical Center- Boston. As a resident, he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Jeffrey H. Spiegel Award for Accomplishment in Plastic Surgery, a testament of his skills as a student and surgeon. He has received several departmental commendations, including the Chiefs’ Camaraderie Award and the Charles Vaughan Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award. His clinical practice is focused on adult and pediatric sleep apnea, and his research interests are focused on sleep apnea and snoring, as well as social determinant of health. He is also interested in resident and medical student education.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Cornell University and graduated from medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Boston Medical Center in 2014, joining the faculty upon graduating. He practices as a General Otolaryngologist, dividing his time between Boston Medical Center and the VA Medical Center in Boston.
