Biography

Lija Joseph, MD, is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. In 2017 she founded the patient consult program at Lowell General Hospital. In doing this, she allows the patient to view their biopsy for themselves. Using one-on-one discussions, she allows patients to understand their diagnosis for themselves and often they report feeling relieved to seeing their biopsy slides. Dr. Joseph hopes to expand this program to other hospitals in the greater Boston area.
