Jennifer E. Snyder-Cappione , PhD

Biography

Dr. Snyder-Cappione received her B.S. from Brandeis University and her Ph.D. from the University of Rochester Medical Center. Her doctoral research focus was the regulation of IFN-gamma and cytotoxic effector functions by CD8+ T cells. During her post-doctoral work at UCSF, she investigated the role of iNKT cells in HIV and Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections as well as sarcoidosis. Her current research interests include: (1) determining the diagnostic and prognostic potential of ex vivo immune functional profiling in human inflammatory diseases, (2) investigating the differentiation potential and lineage relationships of iNKT cell subsets, and (3) elucidating the role of T cell and iNKT cell exhaustion in the progression of infectious diseases and cancer.
