Hannah Barber Doucet, MD, MPH

Assistant Professor, Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine

Biography

Dr. Barber Doucet is the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. She completed her residency with the Boston Combined Residency Program LEAD (formerly UHAT) track, and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Hasbro Children's Hospital/Brown University. She also completed the Brown Advocates for Social Change and Equity (BASCE) fellowship. She is involved in fellow and resident medical education, with interests in health equity medical education and medical education research.

My focus in medical education is in health equity and anti-racism. This has included building and studying curriculums for emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine trainees and faculty; innovating simulation approaches for equity-focused skills; and creating and leading a variety of equity and anti-racism focused workshops and lectures for audiences varying from medical scribes to AAP conference attendees. I feel strongly that education is a key part of a multi-pronged approach to improve the medical experience for historically marginalized patients and ultimately improve equity in medical care.
