Biography

Arpan Mohanty, MD, MSc is a hepatologist and clinical researcher at Boston Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Mohanty serves as the Director of Clinical Research in the Section of Gastroenterology
Dr. Mohanty’s research focuses on optimizing health-care delivery for advanced chronic liver disease and fatty liver disease. Her work has been supported by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the Radiological Society of North America, and she is the current recipient of the Robert Winn Career Development Award that focuses on community-oriented clinical trialists. She also serves as the principal investigator for several trials on chronic liver diseases. She is an active member of the American Association of Study of Liver Diseases and serves in its practice guidelines committee and fundamentals of liver disease committee.
Dr. Mohanty earned her medical degree in India, completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, gastroenterology fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, and advanced hepatology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. She also holds a Master’s in Population Health from the Boston University School of Public Health. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Transplant Hepatology and Obesity Medicine.
