The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accredits programs in the U.S. and Canada leading to the MD degree. LCME accreditation visits happen every eight years with the next visit Feb. 1-3, 2027. Preparation for survey visits provides opportunities for the school community to reflect and re-evaluate its mission and strategic plans and plan for future goals.
In fall 2024 the school's leadership team revised the School Mission, Vision, and Values, and the Strategic Plan focused on Frontline Medicine & Science 2025 and Beyond. Subsequently, subcommittees were formed to review and evaluate all aspects of educational programs and environments to support medical students. Faculty and staff worked together to identify areas were the school is thriving, as well as areas to improve. This LCME website highlights the subcommittees's reports and shares plans to further strengthen areas to support medical education.
The school is deeply appreciative of the faculty, staff and students who spent their time preparing for the February 2027 visit. Your commitment and passion make our school continue to strive for excellence.
As we prepare for our upcoming LCME site visit, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for the role you've played in bringing our school to this milestone. Preparation for an accreditation visit can feel daunting but at its heart, this process is an invitation to reflect on who we are and to share that story with confidence. The strengths of our school, including the educational programs, curricula, the support we offer our students, and the culture of growth and learning we've built together, are not things we need to create for this visit; they're already here, in your daily work.
