Emelia Benjamin, MD, ScM, professor of medicine and epidemiology, received an honorary doctorate from Aalborg University, Denmark.
David Flynn, MS, associate professor in the department of medical sciences & education, has been selected as a recipient of the Academic Medicine Excellence in Reviewing Award by the Association of American Medical Colleges.
Dennis Jones, PhD, associate professor of pathology & laboratory medicine, has received the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Moonshot Scholar Award. In addition he received the 2026 Cotran Early Career Investigator award from the American Society for Investigative Pathology.
Sarah L. Kimball, MD, associate professor of medicine/GIM, received the American Medical Association’s 2025 Debasish Mridha Spirit of Medicine Award, which recognizes the work of U.S. physicians who demonstrate altruism, compassion, integrity, leadership and personal sacrifice while providing quality health care to impoverished, distressed, or marginalized populations in underserved communities.
Sun Lee, MD, MSc, assistant professor of medicine, has been awarded an American Association of Clinical Endocrinology Rising Star in Endocrinology Award.
Craig Noronha, MD, clinical associate professor of medicine and associate program director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, has been elected to the Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine Council.
Cassandra Pierre, MD, MPH, MSc, assistant professor of medicine, has received the Bayard Rustin Award for Courage at the 35th annual Bayard Rustin Community Breakfast.
Priscilla J. Slanetz, MD, MPH, professor of radiology, is the recipient of the 2024 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Award, the highest honor from the American Association for Women in Radiology. Additionally, Slanetz received the 2025 Radiology Advocacy Network’s Howard Fleishon Advocate of the Year Award at the annual meeting of the American College of Radiology in May 2025.
Denise M. Sloan, PhD, professor of psychiatry, has received the Robert Laufer, PhD Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievement from the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
