Guidelines for Supporting Basic Science Educators to Attend Conferences

The guidelines for Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine Basic Science Educators conference attendance are as follows:

• One US-based conference per academic year, with the faculty member as a presenter, may be funded through departmental support. External support is highly encouraged.
• Any additional conferences in the same academic year would be at the discretion of the chair.
• International conference attendance requires external funding or as an invited speaker with full expenses covered.

Request Process: Faculty must seek departmental approval prior to committing to conference participation. Requests should include the conference name, dates, location, type of presentation (presentation/panel/poster), and any external funding sources.
