The Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine Jeffrey Schneider, MD, has been named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for August.

An assistant dean of graduate medical education, Dr. Schneider is an attending emergency medicine physician, associate chief medical officer and designated institutional official (DIO) at Boston Medical Center and vice president of graduate medical education for the Boston Medical Center Health System. He joined our community as a faculty member in 2003.

His nominators say, “Mentorship is a defining feature of Dr. Schneider’s career. For more than 20 years he has advised, mentored and sponsored hundreds of learners – medical students, residents, fellows and junior faculty. His mentoring relationships are longstanding and deeply influential.

“A gifted educator, Dr. Schneider has consistently brought forward creative, equity-centered approaches to teaching.

“Dr. Schneider has consistently developed and supported programs that strengthen community health and engagement both within and beyond the Medical Campus.”
