Advocacy, Equity and Social Justice in Medicine Alumni Award

Mardia Stone, MD (CAMED’79)
In recognition of sustained commitment to advancing social justice and health equity, and to reducing health disparities through leadership, advocacy, public health education, civic engagement and health policy development.

Emerging Leaders Alumni Award

Michael Sherman, MD (CAMED’15)
In recognition of remarkable promise, leadership and commitment to advancing healthcare, research, education or advocacy in the early stages of their professional career in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care Medicine.

Humanitarian Award

Tamara Fitzgerald, MD, PhD (CAMED’04)
In recognition of exemplifying the highest ideals of compassion, service, and dedication to improving health and enhancing the lives of others, and dedication to addressing surgical disparities through global surgery capacity building and medical device design.

Distinguished Alumni Award

Omid Farokhzad, MD (CAMED’99)
In recognition of extraordinary dedication, visionary leadership, and pioneering work in the field of medical nanotechnology.

GMS Distinguished Alumni Award

Tara Moore, PhD (CAMED’ 00)
In recognition of their many contributions in research, mentoring and leadership.

The recipients will be recognized at an in-person ceremony and luncheon on Friday, Sept. 18, as part of Alumni Weekend events.
