Do you remember what motivated you to make your first gift to BUSM?

Thankful for the legacy of giving before me that allows BUSM run on a daily basis and continue its dedication to excellence.

Why do you continue to give to BUSM?

Because the next generation of doctors is just as important as all the others!

What would you tell current students about the importance of giving back to BUSM?

It’s fun to stay connected.

Fond memory of BUSM:

  1. Alan Hwang BUSM ‘14 was so loved at Andres that they created a burger named after him.
  2. DJ Galdeta’s ‘14 intricate wood art which he made faithfully for gifts for his friends and family which made me realize the multi-talented side of BUSM kids.
  3. Creating a yoga group with Steph Shaw ‘15, Caroline Mullin ‘14, Faiza Yasin ‘15, Allison Bond ‘14 and others under Dr Saper’s mentorship. It amazed me how Med students of all years made time to come to the community classes on the beautiful 14th floor.
  4. Watching Kristin Whitney ‘14 crush marathons whilst Med schooling.
  5. Late night study sessions with my best friend Sneha Sundaram ‘14. I remember our mantra from cardiology second year: “when in doubt, amiodarone!”
  6. Mikey Benson’s and Diane Haddad’s ‘14 smiles.

Favorite professor or course at BUSM:

  1. Doug Hughes. He’s a phenomenal human. He made sure everyone was heard and had a solution to everything.
  2. John Polk. He’s legendary. Truly a well rounded surgeon. Allows his students to feel human in medical education. Goes above and beyond for mentoring.
  3. Dr Saper. Always thinking about how to make integrated medicine accessible to all. Very thoughtful and creates a warm environment for his mentorees, but pushes them at the same time.
  4. Jodi Abbott. Few words can describe this amazing human. Of note she won the Christmas outfit contest this year (in my opinion). Just imagine twinkling lights adorning a green and red suit walking down the ob ultrasound corridor…
