Educator of the Year Award

Educator of the Year Award recognizes Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine faculty who delivers exceptional education to Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine medical and/or graduate students, including didactic teaching, clinical teaching, or mentoring.

Categories:

• MD – Preclinical and Clinical
• GMS – Master’s and PhD

Eligibility:

• All Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine faculty who are involved in teaching medical and/or graduate students.
• Must be at Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine for at least 3 years
• Cannot be a previous category winner of Educator of the Year Award

Criteria for nomination: Though these criteria are not exhaustive, competitive nominees will have demonstrated some of the following:

• Excellence in teaching based on teaching evaluation
• Engagement of students
• Challenging students to think critically
• Promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in mentoring and educational pedagogy
• Professionalism
• Thoughtful constructive feedback to the students

Who can nominate: Faculty and Students

Nomination Process: A formal nomination letter addressing the most outstanding teaching attributes of the faculty based on above criteria should be submitted to Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine Awards Committee (camedfao@bu.edu). The nomination letter should not exceed two pages with minimum font 11 point.
