Katy Bockstall, MD, Named Distinguished Faculty of the Month for May

Bockstall joined our community in 2018. Currently, she is an associate director for the third-year internal medicine clerkship. She has served on several committees, including the PISCEs curriculum redesign committee, the department’s intern selection committee and the fellowship selection committee for the section of cardiovascular medicine. She also has served as the faculty co-director of the Women in Cardiology (WIC) group in the department of medicine, in which she has organized many networking and mentorship activities for residents interested in cardiology.

Her nominators said, “Dr. Bockstall is an exemplary educator, who gives above and beyond to help her students, residents and fellows excel at learning.

“She is thoughtful and very clear in her teaching and advocates for the promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB).

“Dr. Bockstall teaches by example on the wards and in the clinics.”
