BU School of Medicine’s Ray James Trains 27 Research Advocates on Parkinson’s Disease

BUSM Clinical Research Nurse in Neurology, Raymond James, BS, RN was a presenter and discussion facilitator during the recent Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF) intensive training session for 27 new Research Associates. At the three-day session, which was held in New Jersey during October, the newest Research Advocates took part in rigorous sessions on the science of Parkinson’s and the process that brings new treatments to market. They learned how to influence research and speed the development of new and effective treatments for Parkinson’s.

Mr. James has been a part of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at BUSM since 2005 and is also a member of the Parkinson’s Study Group, an organization focused on implementing clinical trials in Parkinson’s. He has used his expertise in clinical research to advise and implement trainings that prepare people with Parkinson’s and care partners to join the network and be a voice in their community. He will be participating in additional regional and national trainings this year and into 2012.
