The Pediatrics Education and Development Society (PEDS) is dedicated to connecting students with an interest in pediatrics, educating them about the field, and providing mentor and community outreach opportunities. Through monthly lunch talks, students learn about the residency application process, skills and techniques specific to pediatrics, and the variety of specialties that are available to those who match in pediatrics. Other talks explore child advocacy and the issues facing children on global, national, and local levels. PEDS also gives students the opportunity to volunteer at BMC in pediatrics throughout the year and participate in the Child Health and Advocacy Project, a paid summer service-learning experience for BUSM I students interested in pediatrics and urban advocacy.
