This honor is bestowed annually to one researcher from around the world who has made outstanding contributions to the field of circulatory diseases.
He will remain in these roles while a national search is conducted for his successor.

David H. Farb, PhD, Announces Plans to Step Down as Chair of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics
Over the next year, Dr. Farb will prepare the department (now ranked in the top 18th percentile) for its transition from his leadership to its next stages of development.
The assistant professor of medical sciences and education and director of the Biomedical Laboratory & Clinical Sciences Program has received a 2021 Metcalf Award for Excellence in Teaching. Congratulations!
Dr. Lehman will succeed David Atkinson, PhD, who is stepping down as Chair at the end of June.
He will continue to concentrate on his research program and teaching as a member of the faculty.
