Eduard Vaynberg, MD

Class of: 2000

Specialties: Anesthesiology, Pain Management

Current practice: Director of interventional pain management, Boston Medical Center

Favorite professor at BUSM: Dr. Dick Brown was my favorite professor because he taught me how to be a better doctor. Even though he taught obstetrics and gynecology that I did not pursue, he taught me to think as a physician, how to treat a patient with empathy and dignity. His teaching was very hands on. I can probably still perform a Pap smear and an endometrial biopsy after his course.

Academic appointment: Assistant Professor, BUSM; I interact with BU medical students during their anesthesia rotation at the pain clinic where I try to teach them an approach to a patient suffering from chronic pain issues, something as a physician one would have to face in almost any specialty.

Hobbies: skiing, traveling

Most recent accomplishment: I made the Best of Boston physician list.
