Early Medical School Selection Program
The Early Medical School Selection Program (EMSSP) is nationally recognized as a unique effort to increase diversity in the physician workforce, which is essential to improving quality and equity in healthcare.
This early assurance program provides a supportive environment with gradual transition into the medical school curriculum during the summer terms after sophomore and junior years, and during senior year. Students meeting all program requirements can expect to be promoted to Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine upon completion of their undergraduate education.
Developed in 1982 with a consortium of historically black colleges and universities, the partnership has expanded to include schools with large Latinx and Pacific Island populations. If you are a student at, or plan to attend, one of our partner institutions, we invite you to apply.
