ORCID iD Required for BUMC Faculty

BUMC has implemented a new policy requiring all Medical Campus faculty to obtain an ORCID iD. ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a free registry of unique researcher identifiers that is increasingly used by scholars, funding agencies and scientific journals to identify researchers. The ORCID record includes professional affiliations, funding, publications, honors and awards, service (peer reviews, advisory committees, etc.), and other accomplishments. An ORCID iD is already required for PIs on individual NIH fellowships and career development applications, and by certain manuscript and proposal submission systems.

If you are a faculty member and already have an ORCID that has been reported to BU, it will show on your BU Profile. If you have an ORCID but have not reported it to BU, or need to create a new ORCID, you can do that here. More details about the benefits of ORCID are available here.
