Common Goal Brings Medical Campus Students Together at Mixer

On Thursday, Aug. 11, a social mixer was held for medical campus students with a common goal of serving underrepresented minorities in medicine (URMs) and underserved populations. The interdisciplinary event for dental, medical and public health students was hosted by BU students from the Student National Medical Association (SNMA), the Student National Dental Association (SNDA), the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA), the Hispanic Student Dental Association (HSDA) and BUMC PRIDE, a medical campus-wide LGBTQ group.

BUSM Associate Dean for Diversity and Multicultural Affairs Rafael Ortega, MD, and GSDM Director of Diversity Larry Dunham, DMD, welcomed the students. The students had an opportunity for casual conversation and networking.
