Elaine Lee Joins BUSM Office of Proposal Development

COM-Lee_Elaine OPDElaine Lee, PhD, has joined the Office of Proposal Development as a Grant Writer. In addition to providing copyediting services for experienced faculty, she will guide assistant professors and non-native English-speaking principal investigators in developing and writing their grant submissions.

Lee has more than a decade of experience in writing and editing scientific texts for a wide variety of audiences. She comes to the Medical Campus from the Charles River Campus where she served as a Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the lab of Professor Joyce Wong in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Prior to that she worked in the Scientific Publications Department at the Texas Heart Institute editing clinical manuscripts, and was the technical editor for the introductory level textbook Bioengineering Fundamentals (Prentice Hall 2006). An American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellow, Lee earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a BS in Bioengineering from Rice University.
