Podiatry Clerkship Program

The Division of Podiatry at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center participates in the AACPM Uniform Clerkship Program, accepting third and fourth year students from all nine podiatric colleges.

The month-long rotation includes inpatient care and surgery, outpatient surgery, and participation in the busy outpatient clinic as well as didactic activities, including conference, lecture, and journal club. A variety of patients and pathologies will be encountered and include preventive diabetic foot care and diabetic limb salvage, common elective procedures, some trauma, systemic diseases affecting the foot, and dermatology. Students are active participants in patient care.

The schedule is Monday through Friday each week of the rotation, plus one weekend assignment during the month for inpatient rounds and care. No more than three students per month are scheduled.
