Podiatry Students

Podiatry Clerkship Program

The Division of Podiatry at Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center participates in the AACPM Uniform Clerkship Program, accepting third and fourth year students from all of the nine podiatric colleges. The month long rotation includes inpatient care and surgery, outpatient surgery, and participation in the busy outpatient clinic/office as well as didactic activities including conference, lecture and journal club. A variety of patients and pathology will be encountered including preventive diabetic foot care and diabetic limb salvage, common elective procedures, some trauma, systemic diseases affecting the foot, and dermatology. Students are active participants in patient care.

The schedule is Monday – Friday each week of the rotation, plus one weekend assignment during the month for inpatient rounds and care. No more than three students per month are scheduled. Further details regarding the rotation are available by contacting Erin Springhetti, Program Coordinator, or by reviewing our profile in the clerkship handbook.
