Latest COVID-19 Information

Before You Apply

We have an active minority recruitment office and prioritize diversity among residents, faculty, and staff. We also offer a Subsidized Visiting Elective Program for medical students from ethnicities that are underrepresented in medicine. Please email Justin McCummings ( for more information.

In addition, feel free to visit the Graduate Medical Education website and the Committee of Interns and Residents (CIR) website to learn more about the salaries and benefits for BMC residents. Interested BU medical students should check out the Emergency Medicine Interest Group.

We encourage, but do not require, applicants to participate in a fourth year clerkship or ultrasound elective in our Emergency Department.
