Advisor: Dr. Eric Smith (elsmith@bu.edu, mary.pevear@bmc.org)

Student Leaders:

The Orthopaedic Surgery Interest Group looks to expand opportunities for students interested in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery to gain early exposure and involvement to both its clinical and research components. OSIG endeavors to provide the tools, information and mentorship needed to consider Orthopaedic Surgery as discipline of interest as students progress in their medical education by organizing opportunities to attend lectures, Grand Rounds, and informational sessions; providing guidance with regard to developing relationships with mentors, becoming involved with research and positioning oneself favorably in preparation for applying for residencies; and by creating opportunities to shadow and enhance clinical exposure to a fast paced, challenging and exciting specialty.
