IVIS Capabilities & Publications
Boston University’s IVIS Spectrum has the ability to detect both bioluminescence and fluorescence in vivo. Researchers from many departments of the Medical Campus have been using the camera for their experiments. See below to view their research:
1) NOD/SCID mouse fat pad injected with HS578T cell line, pre-labeled with lentiviral dsRed-IRES-mTomato vector; red fluorescence image capture is shown below:
2) BALB/c purified mouse T cells were labeled with Invitrogen QDot 565 nanocrystals and injected into recipient mice via the tail vein. IL-16 was administered intratracheally. Flourescent QDOT image capture at 24 hours is shown below. (Courtesy Jillian Richmond)
3) In vivo effects of BMP2 shRNA inhibition on bone formation after marrow ablation. Seen below are In vivo measurements of bioluminescent intensities from mice injected in the tibia with lentivirus overexpressing luciferase (lenti-Luc) compared to PBS injected controls, shown right.
