Dr. Omar Siddiqi Awarded December Distinguished Faculty of the Month

The Faculty Affairs Office is pleased to announce that Omar K. Siddiqi, MD, is December’s Distinguished Faculty of the Month.

Dr. Siddiqi is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in Cardiovascular Medicine. He was initially appointed as an Instructor after completing his fellowship at Boston Medical Center, where he won the Fellow of the Year Teaching Award and the Workhorse Award. He developed a monthly “Imaging Show and Tell” conference for cardiology fellows. In addition to publishing papers and chapters, Dr. Siddiqi regularly presents papers and posters. He has served as Clinical Investigator of five studies.

He received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and completed residencies at the Hospitality of the University of Pennsylvania and Boston Medical Center.

The nomination states: “Dr. Siddiqi has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to teaching students in the Disease and Therapy course for second-year medical and PA students. He took over as co-director of the Cardiovascular Module two years ago and has made substantial improvements, including piloting two TBL sessions this year and adding a workshop on ECGs in response to students’ needs.

“He is genuinely interested in helping students learn the material and holds extra review sessions and office hours to help them. His enthusiasm for his specialty and clinical medicine engages the students which is reflected in his strong student evaluations.”
