Leica SP5 Confocal Microscope
Function of the instrument
Laser point scan confocal with standard and high-speed resonance scanning. High resolution imaging at room temperature.
Overview
The Leica SP5 is a point-scan confocal microscope with laser lines at 405, 458, 476,
488, 496, 514, 543, 594, and 633nm. Emission collection is customizable to 4 channels.
Regular and high-speed resonance scanning modes are available.
- Training involves proper turn on and turn off sequences and learning the operation of the instrument.
- Training also involves the proper cleaning so as not to damage the optics or other parts of the instrument.
- Generally, the instructor is operating the instrument for the first session and explaining as the experiment progresses and is present for following sessions as needed.
- New users should schedule at least 2 training sessions of 1 hour. Please book your training 2 weeks in advance. Bring your sample to training and we will acquire images with you.
