Biostatistics and Epidemiology Data Analytics Center (BEDAC)
The Biostatistics and Epidemiology Data Analytics Center (BEDAC) at Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) has been a resource since 1984, providing research services to BU investigators, government, foundation and industry partners. The BEDAC core competencies and services include:
- Project Management provides the structure through which study operations are planned, tracked and managed, provides a vehicle to foster effective communication and information exchange, and ensures that project deliverables are completed on-time and within budget.
- Regulatory Affairs ensures that investigations satisfy ethical standards and comply with federal regulations, institutional polices, and funder requirements, as well as comply with data sharing obligations.
- Data Management leads the development, implementation and maintenance of the Data Management Plan (DMP) to ensure that data is traceable and of high quality throughout the entire data life cycle. The DMP provides documentation of data sources, describes the software development life cycle, data collection and data cleaning procedures and ensures validation of final datasets to meet Sponsor requirements.
- Study Monitoring provides oversight, using risk-based approaches, to ensure adherence to the protocol, standard operating procedures (SOP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and other regulatory requirements.
- Reporting provides tables, figures and listing for data management, safety and statistical findings, using both static and interactive platforms.
- Biostatistics and Epidemiology provides methodologic and technical expertise with respect to study design, development and implementation of the Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP) and subsequent dissemination of analytic findings.
- Data Sciences incorporates big data processing, storage and retrieval solutions and the utilization of machine learning applications to provide insights.
- Geospatial Technologies provides geolocation coding, mapping and analysis using research, public and private data sources at various spatial and temporal resolutions.
Our Quality Management framework provides a mechanism to optimize research integrity to ensure that our organization’s policies, procedures and deliverables are in compliance with applicable requirements and guidelines and meet client expectations.
